Weekend Match-ups

Sports fans, rejoice! Our weekend is set. I’ve already started stocking the fridge with cold brews and a ton of dip and chips—with a jam-packed NFL, college football and World Series schedule, I’m setting up base in the living room all weekend. Here, a few of my predictions.

World Series

San Francisco Giants (2-0) vs. Detroit Tigers (0-2)
Saturday, 8pm ET-FOX; Sunday, 8pm ET-FOX; Monday, 8pm ET-FOX
Office Pick: SF Giants
Justin’s Pick: SF Giants
After a convincing game one victory over the Tigers, the Giants could very well sweep the series. They were dominant in their last series versus the defending champions.Their pitching has been great and they’re not giving up many points.

College Football

Georgia (6-1) vs. Florida (7-0)
Saturday, 3:30pm ET- CBS
Office Pick: Florida
Justin’s Pick: Florida
This game has huge implications! The winner is likely to represent the SEC East in the Southeastern Championship Game. I expect the explosive Florida offense to make the difference when facing a Georgia team that has struggled on defense all season. But with this combo, anything can happen.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish (7-0) vs. Oklahoma Sooners (5-0)
Saturday, 8pm ET-ABC
Office Pick: Oklahoma
Justin’s Pick: Oklahoma
Oklahoma’s one loss is to the No. 3 ranked Kansas State Wildcats, and by a small margin. Notre Dame is undefeated but have struggled in a few games against unranked teams. I predict Oklahoma to win by a landslide.

Mississippi State Bulldogs (7-0) vs. Alabama Crimson Tide (7-0)
Saturday, 8:30pm ET-ESPN and ESPN3
Office Pick: Alabama
Justin’s Pick: Mississippi State
Upset alert! Both teams remain unbeaten going into week seven. However, the Crimson Tide have not been challenged all season and could be caught off guard by a team that is known for its major upsets.

NFL

New York Giants (5-2) vs. Dallas Cowboys (3-3)
Sunday, 4:25pm ET-FOX and DIRECTV 714
Office Pick: Giants
Justin’s Pick: Giants
The defending Superbowl champs are on fire. Despite losing to the Cowboys in the season opener, they have gone 5-1 since then. The Cowboys, meanwhile, have struggled all season.

Atlanta Falcons (6-0) vs. Philadelphia Eagles (3-3)
Sunday, 1pm ET-FOX and DIRECTV 706
Office Pick: Falcons
Justin’s Pick: Eagles
The Atlanta Falcons travel to Philly to face off against their former savior, Michael Vick. The Falcons remain unbeaten after three very close calls while the Eagles have failed to live up to their pre-season hype. Despite their 3-3 record, the Eagles are statistically better than the Falcons in most categories. I expect Vick and co. to pull off a major upset.

San Francisco 49ers (5-2) vs. Arizona Cardinals (4-3)
Monday, 8:30pm ET-ESPN
Office Pick: 49ers
Justin’s Pick: Cardinals
After a 4-0 start, the Cardinals lost three straight games and are at a breaking point in their season. Though the 49ers were regarded as the top team in the NFL earlier this season, they haven’t been playing well lately. I’m putting my bets on the Cardinals for this one.

Stuff Presidents Say

The Twittersphere was blowing up during last night’s final Presidential debate. These were just a handful of my fave tweets.

SweetJack’s Gone Country

SweetJack had a big weekend as they helped kick off the Brothers of the Sun Tour with Kicks 101.5 at Atlanta’s Falcons Landing this past Sunday. The day was full of sunshine, brews and, of course, fun-loving country music fans. Here are just a few photos from the event. Thanks to all who came out and said hello!
